Introduction

Welcome to our new Faith@Home Blog site!  The purpose of this blog is to provide an interactive forum for various Faith@Home topics.

What is Faith@Home?
Faith@Home is a simple expression we use to represent living out our Christian faith in everyday life.  It's taking our faith beyond the walls of the church and learning what it truly means to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength". (Deut 6:5)  Everyone has a place they call home.  It may be an apartment or a house - the structure itself really does not matter.  What matters is that wherever we spend the most time, that is where we should be living out our faith.

Pastor Johnny Hunt of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia has a great quote that says," If you can be a Christian in the home, you can be a Christian anywhere.  But if you can't be a Christian in the home, then you can't be a Christian anywhere."  What he means is that if you can consistently live out your faith with those closest to you - who see you walk through both the victories on the highest of mountaintops as well as through the storms in the lowest of valleys (and everywhere in between!) - if we can live out our faith and continue to seek Jesus is all that we do, then that is real Christianity.  But the opposite is also true: if the only time we open our Bibles, pray or seek God is when we're in church, then it doesn't matter how nice we dress or what those around us think - we're not really following Christ.

That's the core of the Faith@Home movement.  It's a quest for authenticity in our spiritual walk, which should permeate everything we do.  It's being intentional not only about our own relationship with Christ, but also with our families and friends and their spiritual walks as well.

We also need to point out that this is not anything new that we have come up with on our own.  This is God's original design for all of us, as seen all throughout scripture.  This is a journey that each of us must travel individually, but not alone!

We will use this site as a platform for encouragement with ideas, discussions and links to other great content.  But the real value won't be in what we update, but rather in the collective thoughts and efforts of all of you, as we all walk the common path of authentic faith.
